First Friday Event Offers Something For Everyone

Noblesville Main Street’s October First Friday event is this Friday from 5-8 p.m., including many fun, family-friendly activities, such as the fifth annual CanStruction event, the annual Soup Cook-Off competition and Fall Festival for children of all ages including trick or treating with area merchants.

CanStruction Noblesville 2017 is here! Look for special can guys around town this week. Then join us Friday morning Oct 6 for sculpture building and Friday evening for viewing the sculptures during the Noblesville Main Street Fall Festival on the square. Most important drop off non-perishable donations before Oct 15 at any of our four sculpture host locations, Church, Church, Hittle & Antrim, Kiln Creations, Lil Bloomers or Whimzy. In five years, Noblesville Main Street with the support of the community has donated approximately 16,000 items of non-perishable food items to the Noblesville Trustees Office through the CanStruction event.

The Fall Festival activities, presented by Primrose School of Noblesville, features pumpkin decorating, hayrides, and food vendors. Kids are encouraged to come in costume because select downtown merchants will feature trick-or-treating while supplies last. The merchant list can be viewed via the Noblesville Main Street Facebook site.

The annual Soup Cook-Off features several local restaurants and groups competing for your votes for the People’s Choice Award. Come sample great soups for $1 per sample or $3 for the cup of your choice. Then cast your vote. Participants this year include Ginger’s Cafe, Perkins Restaurant, Michaelangelo’s Italian Bistro, Jaws Food Truck, Noblesville Main Street and Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank. The event will also feature hot ham and cheese sandwiches from the Noblesville Lions Club available for purchase.

Finally, scarecrows are displayed around the downtown area from Logan to Ninth and Conner streets as part of the annual Scarecrow Contest. The public can vote for their favorite entry at the Noblesville Main Street tent on the north side of the courthouse lawn during the First Friday event. Scarecrows will continue to be on display through the month of October. Vote for your favorite with a monetary donation at the Main Street tent.
