Karisma Boutique + Peony & Poppy

A Legacy of Love in Downtown Noblesville
By Ariane Haile

For nearly 20 years, Noblesville residents have been able to find unique home goods and fashion at Karisma boutique, owned by Kari Clouse. What many do not know is that Kari is a Noblesville native and the mother of Klaudia Kirk and Kylee Leiendecker—sisters who recently opened the boutique Peony and Poppy right next to their mom!

What started as a dream to bring unique products to their small town has blossomed into a multigenerational family business and staple of the downtown community. When her daughters expressed a desire to follow in her entrepreneurial footsteps, Kari encouraged them to pursue their dream, even when timing wasn't ideal.  Through perseverance and family support, Peony and Poppy opened its doors right next door to Karisma in March 2024. For this family, small business is in their DNA. Their grandfather founded a furniture store over 70 years ago that is still family-run today.

Growing up immersed in the world of entrepreneurship shaped Kylee and Klaudia’s ambition. A legacy that continues in their own children, who amazingly are growing up just as they did--with the store as an extension of their home.  Their grandmother is there..aunties and uncles around in and out...pretending to own stores of their own. They have truly built a remarkable dynamic.  "We've talked about opening a business together for years," says Kylee. Now located side by side, the shops bring joy and inspiration to all who visit. "We hope people leave feeling good, finding things that make them happy for their homes and lives," says Klaudia.

Through multigenerational dedication to their craft and community, these women are leaving an impact that will last for years to come in downtown Noblesville. Their story demonstrates how following your dreams and supporting local businesses can have ripple effects that strengthen the fabric of a family as well as a community. More than retailers, they aim to be a place where "neighbors can support one another and bring joy”.
